It can be difficult to see all of the events going on in the pack, or the den. There are emails that are automatically sent out but it can be far easier to add an ICS / ICal link in your phone, so your calendar app automatically shows you the pack and den events.
Login to advancements.scouting.org > Calendar > Scroll to the bottom and copy the Pack 905 URL and your den's URL. Then follow the steps listed below (based on your cell phone):
Instructions for IPhone:
Open Settings
Scroll down and tap Apps > Calendar
Tap Calendar Accounts
Tap Add Account
Tap Other
Tap Add Subscribed Calendar
Paste the calendar subscription link (ICS/iCal URL)
Tap Next
Optionally rename the calendar or choose a color
Tap Save
The calendar events should now automatically appear in your Calendar app and stay updated whenever changes are made.
Note: This is different from importing a calendar file. By subscribing to the calendar, future updates and new events will sync automatically.
Instructions for Android:
Google Calendar supports subscribed calendars
However, subscriptions are usually added through the web version of Google Calendar first
Once added, the calendar automatically appears and syncs on the Android phone
Typical setup:
Next to “Other calendars,” click the
+Choose “From URL”
Paste the ICS/iCal link
The subscribed calendar will then sync to the phone automatically
Some Android calendar apps can subscribe directly on the device, but Google Calendar is the most common and reliable approach.
