May Pack Hike 2026 - Great Falls national park 8:15AM on the 25th May 25th meet at 8:15AM and we will promptly leave at 8:30

This hike will be a bit different. It is on a Monday when Kids (and hopefully parents) have off. It is free to enter the park due to Memorial Day. For those who haven't been to great falls, this is a fantastic park. It has some great views and the crawls can be very fun for the kids.

NOTE Non-citizens or Non-Residents will need to pay the normal park fee plus $100 per person. If you fall in this category then please google it for more information.

Meet at: Great Falls Visitors center 9200 Old Dominion Dr, McLean, VA 22102

If we get a large number of people we are going to split into 2 groups. The first group will be made of younger kids or people who want to take a slower more of a scenic route. The other group will spend less time at the scenic overlooks and more time at the places that require some light climbing.

If there are a small number of people we will, do something in the middle, with light climbing.

We will have the buddy system on this, since there are lots of trails, and it is busier than most parks we go to.

I could really use the help run this, especially if it is a large crowd. If you would like to volunteer to help with the hike or run into any problems contact Jason.

What to bring: Wear your class B yellow shirt (if you have one). While hiking with your Scouts, each Scout ideally should always bring the Cub Scout 6 Essentials with them:

• Flashlight

• Filled Water Bottle

• Whistle

• First Aid Kit

• Sun Protection

• Trail Snack See you there!
