Our pack

A place to learn, belong, and explore.

Pack 905 is a family-centered Cub Scout pack serving children in grades K–5 from Potomac Falls and the surrounding Sterling community. Scouts learn by doing—exploring the outdoors, building new skills, serving their neighbors, and sharing memorable experiences with friends and family.

The pack brings together approximately 50 Scouts across every elementary grade. We are based at Algonkian Elementary School and chartered by the Sterling Volunteer Fire Department, a partnership that strengthens our connection to service and the community around us.

Families arrive with many different interests and levels of experience. No previous Scouting or camping experience is required; Pack 905 leaders help make each activity approachable, welcoming, and fun.

How Cub Scouting works

One pack. Grade-level dens.

Scouts get the energy of a larger pack community and the support of a smaller group designed for their age and grade.

The pack

Every grade comes together for monthly meetings, races, service projects, celebrations, hikes, and campouts.

The dens

Grade-level dens meet in smaller groups for age-appropriate adventures, friendships, and advancement.

Our meeting rhythm

A dependable rhythm with room for real life.

The full pack generally meets on the first Thursday of each month during the school year. Dens usually meet every other Sunday afternoon, with flexibility for busy family schedules and opportunities to make up advancement activities.
